Young Granny Smith Sculpture by SinystraSunshine Young Granny Smith Sculpture by SinystraSunshine
Edit: Oh my gosh, thank you guys! This deviation is now the one with the most favourites in my gallery, in such a short time! Thank you, I'm very happy that you like my Granny!

Finally it's done!

My Granny-Sculpture is finished... woah. My first pony-sculpture!

She is made from Polymer Clay, the eyes are drawn on stickers, the apples on the scarf are painted with acrylic colors and the mouth is drawn with a fineliner.
Making time: ca. 13 hours

Edit: a nice somepony reminded me of writing how tall Granny is!!
- she is from the ground to the highest part of her hat ca. 11 cm tall
- from her nose to the tail there are also ca. 11 cm (4,3 inch)
- the grass-ground under her hooves is 7 x 9 cm (2,8 x 3,5 inch), plus the basket with the zap-apples, which is ca. 4 - 5 cm (1,6 - 2 inch) big

I don't really know what to do with her yet. xD Maybe someone wants to buy her?

I hope you like her. I put a lot of effort in her and tried very hard... x___x

Here is my Facebook-Page: [link]

(BTW, Im on Bronies.de, too... but haven't written anything in the forum yet, I guess I'm too shy... o.o' My name there is Final Sunshine (the name of my ponysone  ) )

(Hehe, just realized that this is my deviation number 300 here! And my most popular one... awesome, thank you all!! >.<)

Granny Smith is awesome! :D She looks pretty respectable for that age.

Well done on the sculpture

This is amazing for a first sculpture. It must've taken you so long. Very good. You have a talent darling. One you get the paint a little smoother, you'll be number one for sure.

Nonsense, your English is wonderful! Unfortunately, Gala con is a little too far for me, as I live in the United States.
I'm sure however you'll be able to sell her there! A great way to price it is also to see the minimum amount of cost it would take you to make it (like the amount of clay), and price that, and include cost of time. For her to be that large, I wouldn't sell it for less than 50$USD, much less the time it took you, but that is my opinion and one that is not used to buying many clay objects!

Well, yes, sadly it is a long way from the US to Germany. :( Otherwise I would love to visit the bronycon. ^^'

Thank you very much for your advise/opinion! :3

That leads me to the question what you would pay for it? Well, at the moment I don't want to sell her because I didn't solve the shipping problem yet (I'm afraid Granny would break!).
But it is very interesting for me to know what a suitable price would be in your opinion?

I would need some more information on it. I know the materials and the time it took you, but how tall is it? I make and sell plushies and pricing is the hardest part. You don't want to sell yourself short. You can also look at other polymer sculptures and see what they're going for in the size that your GS is. That all being said, I can't really price it without the size! :) I am a little saddened that she won't be mine for a while!

Oh, you're right... I should've written that in the description, totally forgot it... Granny is from the ground to the highest part of her hat ca. 11 cm tall, and from her nose to the tail there are also ca. 11 cm (4,3 inch). The grass-ground under her feets is 7 x 9 cm (2,8 x 3,5 inch), plus the basket with the zap-apples, which is ca. 4 - 5 cm (1,6 - 2 inch) big. *will copy and paste this in the description, too*
You're right, the pricing is difficult, that's why I'm asking. ._. I don't want to take too much money, but yes, I don't want to sell it for too less because it was not easy to make... ^^'
The prices of other polymer-pony-sellers are sooo different. xD I want to find a middle way...
I really would like to sell it to you, but I'm, like I said before, afraid that Granny would break while shipping because we have some very careless postmen here... -__-' And I would feel guilty if she would arrive at yours and would be broken! (and I would be sad because she is my first sculpture)
Maybe you will visit the Galacon this year? xD I'm thinking of taking Granny with me to the Galacon if my friend and I can manage to get a sales place there... (she is a drawer/illustrator)
Uhm, yeah, so much text, I'm sorry... and I'm sorry for my possibly bad english, it's not my mother tongue. ^^'

You did a great job, but I hope you don't mind a little bit of constructive criticism: The eye lines might need to be a little bit thicker, and the head shape should probably be a little bit more curved. The hair should probably have been beige, but other than that, this is a great work of art.

Thank you!
And thanks for the criticism, I will try to do it better the next time (Granny was my first try xD). The hair color was difficult to make with my clay, so it turned out this way. ^^'
Thank you very much for the comment! :)

For a first try, it came out beautifully. The eye color must have been tricky, too.

I love the inclusion of the zap-apples, too.

Danke für dein Interesse auf jeden Fall!

This is very adorable, using stickers for the eyes was a very smart idea. Love the little details, like the ruffles on the bonnet and her cape and the zap apples are a great addition to this piece. I imagine she'd sell but I'd be worried about her breaking in the post!
